During our recent visit to the Coté de Azur, I had opportunity to visit Paul de Vence, a romantic small artist town. In the Maeght Foundation Museum that houses brilliant works, the mask like portraits done by the Spanish artist Julio González caught my eye. They have such power in expression and such appeal: they appeal to the universal. I wondered how a very reduced work would look and captured my husband in a few lines. My tribute to Julio González.
