... you never expected you would run into, makes your day.
That's how it felt to run into Andreas Edelmann again. We were returning to Berlin from a trip to the southern part of Germany. We were feeling quite tired, having spent a large part of the dark cold winter afternoon in the train, when in walked this young musician at Braunschweig. The tiredness disappeared in a jiffy; just the thought of how adversity brings people who were earlier strangers, together, cheered me up so much. I had previously met him at the Airport in Abu Dhabi and we had missed our flight to Chennai, India. The shared misfortune quickly evaporated as we settled down at the Hotel Cafe´and munched our sandwiches. I thought we had parted ways at the Chennai Airport after a delay of over 12 hours. This time around the circumstances were different: the Deutsche Bahn contrary to its notoriuos reputation even made it to Berlin on time. Hope to hear him play the Contrabass in Berlin soon. |
