This week I made time to revamp my websites giving them the look and feel I would like them to have. I hope you like them too. Please do have a look at my websites both in English and German. Would love some feed back. Thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Advent. In these days of darkness and cold I pray each one of us can find ways to feel warm and cheerful and appreciate the silken dark night blue skies and the spectacular sunsets (if the sun is out). This week I made time to revamp my websites giving them the look and feel I would like them to have. I hope you like them too. Please do have a look at my websites both in English and German. Would love some feed back. Thank you.

I am posting a sketch I did in 2012 this week. It pains me to read about the terrible bombings and shootings in so many different parts of our world. We do feel isolated in our tiny little pockets that we create for ourselves. For me the trick is to constantly look for the "angels" that have a protective shield around our worlds and that still make our world a happy peaceful place to be in. A place to start is may be our own little pockets: let the LIGHT in so that we may break down the barriers that keep us isolated or aim to keep us isolated. I was at the Botticelli Exhibition in Berlin this week. The exhibition is put together very interestingly, highlighting our present day interest in our past. It was very interesting to see how important it is to us, to reinterpret ideas from our past. The idea of Venus, the Goddess of love, born from a very violent act: the severance of the male genitals. The implications of this act in the reinterpretation of violence against the female sex in today's world cannot unfortunately be denied.
However, my thoughts would not be complete without reference to the high skills the renaissance masters possessed. I was particularly taken in with Rossetti's pastel technique in La Donna della Finestra: it reminded me of my own Tondi. Here is one of them. ..begets more.
Today (as always) i am particularly thankful for the many blessings I have in my life. Here is to a happy life of togetherness and the trust that is placed in me. Happy and still counting... Love and light to all. |
