During a discussion last week, I was asked about why I had different formats for my works.
This was in fact a riddle to me, because I have been choosing my formats intuitively, without giving much thought to it. I spent some time researching the proportions I'd already used and came up on some very interesting texts on ratios and their impacts, both physically and metaphysically.
The ratios that arise in the geometry of the square roots of 2 and 3 are particularly important in the fields of art and architecture. The Ancients knew this.
Today I present to you some jottings down and shapes that arise from the above geometries.
It was very satisfying to have an insight into my work.
