This week I am posting a sketch that I did on beer coasters. This is a part of my "Jugendstil and Concrete Art Series". I had developed this series from a Jugendstil drawing of pepper corns on a pepper vine.
This drawing reminds me of the sun and its divergent light rays. In the State of Tamilnadu, India where I come from, the return of the sun back into the northern hemisphere is celebrated as Pongal: a week full of festivities that commemorate the natural cycles.
