I like to play with my sketches on small bits of paper. Here is the start of a series.
In a next step, I had a series of works on wood veneer, one of which is on the picture above (charcoal on wood veneer, 30 x 30 cm, 20180703).
Starting with this series of sketches, I have now developed the series on packaging jute (20200501, Acrylic on packaging jute approx., 85 x 102 cm).
The jute sacks bear signs of travel, transportation and wear and tear. My works on this worn and used surface, give the material a new lease of life. They honour this humble material that comes from the deltas of my home land.
