This sculpture by Grawe for e.g. documents the difficult times of the Twenties right after the First World War. A feminine figure reaching out in desperation.
I saw this sculpture at the Bröhan Museum, a private collection that documents the history of art in Berlin around the turn of the 20th century. I am increasingly becoming aware of the very important role private collectors play in art and how important it is not only to artists, but also to mankind at large to document the happenings of our times, by buying art, by preserving art. This sculpture by Grawe for e.g. documents the difficult times of the Twenties right after the First World War. A feminine figure reaching out in desperation.
